JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Graduate Program in Acoustics seeks to hire numerous Penn State students and non-students throughout the 2023-2024 academic year. We are looking to hire part-time research assistants and part-time teaching/learning assistants.

Research assistant duties include:

  • conduct research and collect data
  • interpret and analyze research data
  • report status of research activities
  • meet with research principle to maintain ongoing communication of research progress
  • perform other duties as assigned by research principle

Teaching/learning assistant duties include:

  • grade student assignments and exams
  • respond to and return student work in a timely manner
  • hold regular office hours
  • attend lectures if required by faculty supervisor
  • consultant with faculty supervisor to resolve administrative, grading or other issues related to the course
  • perform other duties as assigned by faculty supervisor

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
