Software Engineering Intern (Summer 2025)

We are seeking enthusiastic students to join our Summer 2025 engineering internship program. Interns will have the opportunity to experience a comprehensive learning experience, combining hands-on work, mentorship, and professional development. Interns will apply their knowledge and grow their skills while working closely with Marotta team members to complete a summer project with the unique opportunity to present their project and internship experience to senior leadership. Interns also have the opportunity to network with other interns and employees through optional engagement and voluntary events.

Our 10 weeks internship program is available with various engineering teams across the company, including design, manufacturing, operations, and systems.

Responsibilities:


  • Develop and test mission critical software for the manipulation and control of flight actuation systems.
  • Write procedures, test reports, other technical documents.
  • Product specification review and compliance analysis.
  • Create training documents with verification tests.
  • Help to present design parameters.
  • Design, implement, test, and debug software for embedded systems.
  • Analyze results from static analysis tools that detect potential problems and issues in the code.
  • Update unit test and code coverage testing on embedded software.
  • Work closely with a team of engineers and technicians in a laboratory environment.
  • Able to work full time, onsite for a minimum of 10 consecutive weeks beginning in June 2025.



Required Qualifications :


  • Strong interest in Aerospace design.
  • Excellent grades, especially in core engineering courses.
  • Must work precisely, accurately, and with close attention to all details.
  • High level of system aptitude and knowledge.
  • Advanced organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience in embedded software and development
  • Experience in programming languages: C (preferred), C++, Java, Python, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be enrolled in a bachelor's degree or graduate program by the start of employment.



Education:


  • High school thru post undergraduate degree students are encouraged to apply- Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.



Work Environment:


  • This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).



Physical Requirements:


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear.
  • The Engineering Intern is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • The Engineering Intern is frequently required to sit at length, stand, walk, and move about the facility.
  • The Engineering Intern may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds
