Our IS4S Ogden, Utah location is seeking to hire an experienced communications engineer to support the development of a modular, open communication system for unmanned airborne platforms. In particular, we are looking for candidates who are self-starters, teachable, and able to learn new things as they work together with others to solve challenging technical problems. Work varies based on the project from core, low-level development to high-level designs for system architectures that interact with other DoD components.

Job Role(s):

This position will:

* Provide technical expertise in the design and porting of waveforms to software defined radios (SDRs)

* Provide technical expertise in the development of standards based SDRs for the DoD

* Serve as a technical team member or task leader as required.

* Oversee sub-contractor integration of government owned waveforms that provide the PHY, Link/MAC, and Network solutions

* Maintain and expand knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

* Participate in special projects as required.

* High degree of proficiency and experience with datalinks

Required experience:

Required Experience and Skills:

* MUST BE US CITIZEN: Ability to obtain an Active Secret Level Security Clearance

* B.S. required in relevant field with M.S. or Ph.D. preferred

* Prior experience working within tactical waveforms

* Prior experience working with software defined radios

* Proficiency with embedded software development

* Proficiency with RF hardware design and testing

* SMEs may be required to travel.

Additional Experience / Qualifications of Interest:

* Prior military datalink experience

* Experience with DoD open standards (SOSA, VNX+, MORA, ...) and DevSecOps a plus

* Proficiency with Link 16 terminals and tactical radios

* Proficiency with modeling networks of multiple waveforms

* Experience with radio front end and antenna integration

* Experience working within or with the DoD

* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities from multiple sources

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills working in a team environment with positive interaction

* Must be proactive in dealing with requests and be able to work independently
