Nurse Practitioner Advanced Heart Failure Mechanical Circulatory Support Full Time 81365BR Job Summary The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Heart & Vascular Center's Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) Program seeks an NP to help grow our program. The UCSF team consists of highly experienced physicians, surgeons, APPs, nurses, social workers, researchers and others. Our MCS program is nationally known for cutting edge MCS support in both the outpatient and inpatient setting and offers a variety of support systems (long-term and short-term). The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $91.17 - $118.30 (Hourly Rate). To learn more about the benefits of working at UCSF, including total compensation, please visit: https://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/compensation-and-benefits/index.html Required Qualifications Nurse Practitioner I Four (4) years of RN experience caring for advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support devices, pulmonary hypertension, and/or heart transplant patients. Nurse Practitioner II One (1) year of NP experience caring for advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support devices, pulmonary hypertension, and/or heart transplant patients. Preferred Qualifications A minimum of two (4) years experience as a UCSF nurse in a cardiac critical care setting A minimum of two (2) years experience as an MCS/VAD coordinator License/Certification California driver's license (CDL) if required for position. Must hold current national certification from an accepted certifying agency and provide by first day of work. Accepted Certifications for this position: Acceptable NP Board Certifications Checklist 2.23.24.docx ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC Current and active RN and NP and Furnishing license in California. Complete a BRN recognized graduate master's degree program as a nurse practitioner. Obtain an active and/or transferable DEA license to California and provide evidence by 90th day of clinical practice. (It is the responsibility of the employee to transfer their DEA license to their new place of employment if from out of state, via online DEA portal and provide evidence of transfer). Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day. CCS enrollment as appropriate for pediatric environments. Current AHA BLS. Current AHA ACLS. State regulation requires that you have a supervising physician to practice. Incumbents with less than 6 months of NP experience will be hired as a Nurse Practitioner 1. UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
